Maeve’s Supplies — Rental Policies

1 . Rental Term & Ownership

  • Minimum rental period is three (3) consecutive calendar days (Pick-up/Delivery Day, Event Day, Return Day).
  • Plinths, risers, tops, weights and all accessories remain the exclusive property of Maeve’s Supplies Inc. at all times.
  • Title to, and risk of loss for, the items pass back to Maeve’s Supplies only after they are returned and inspected.

2 . Booking, Deposits & Payment

At checkout, you’ll pay a non-refundable booking deposit (amount shown on each product page) to lock in your dates. Upon return of the products, the balance of the rental fee—plus any delivery charge—is automatically charged to the card on file. When the plinths are collected or delivered, we place a temporary damage-security hold for their retail value on that same card; this hold is released within 24 hours once the items are returned and pass inspection.

All prices are in Canadian dollars and subject to HST.

3 . Delivery, Pick-up & Client Responsibilities

  • Store pick-up (free): renter supplies an appropriately sized, fully enclosed vehicle and protective blankets/straps.
  • Delivery & collection: flat rate calculated per order at checkout.
  • Renter (or authorised agent 18+) must sign the Delivery Checklist on arrival.

4 . Care, Use & Restrictions

  • Indoor or covered venues only. Outdoor use requires prior approval.
  • Weight limit: 100 lb centred on top surface.
  • Do not paint, drill, staple, nail, glue, or apply permanent vinyl/decals to the plinths.
  • Only enclosed vessels (no open-flame tapers) may be placed on the plinths; candles require holders that prevent wax drip.
  • Renter must protect floors and walls from possible scratches or transfer.

5 . Damage, Loss & Cleaning Fees

  • Minor scuffs are expected; serious chips, cracks, water damage, paint transfer, or structural failure are billed at retail replacement cost minus your rental fee.
  • Missing items (incl. felt pads, weights, hardware) are billed at replacement cost.
  • Excess cleaning (wax removal, adhesive residue) incurs a $45 per plinth service charge.
  • Maeve’s Supplies may apply all or part of the damage hold to cover such costs; any balance is charged to the card on file.

6 . Returns & Late Fees

  • Returns must occur no later than 4 p.m. on the scheduled Return Day unless a later time is agreed in writing.
  • Late returns incur the base rental fee per calendar day. After five late days, full retail replacement cost is charged and items are deemed purchased.

7 . Cancellations & Date Changes

Date changes are free up to five days before pick-up. If you cancel more than five days out, we keep only the non-refundable booking deposit and refund any other payments. Cancellations made between five and two days before pick-up result in a 50 percent retention of the total rental fee, and any cancellation within 48 hours is fully non-refundable because the plinths are already reserved, prepped, and out of circulation.

8 . Liability & Indemnification

  • Renter hereby assumes full responsibility for the safe use, transport, and custody of all rented items from the time of pick-up/delivery until formal return.
  • Maeve’s Supplies Inc. is not liable for any personal injury, property damage, or consequential loss arising from misuse, improper installation, or overloading of the rented items.
  • Renter agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Maeve’s Supplies Inc., its owners, and employees from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, costs, or attorney fees arising out of the renter’s use or possession of the items.

9 . Force Majeure

Maeve’s Supplies Inc. is not responsible for failure to deliver or collect due to events beyond reasonable control (acts of God, severe weather, strikes, governmental action, etc.). In such cases, payments already made (excluding the non-refundable booking deposit) will be converted to a store credit valid for 12 months.

10 . Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These policies are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada. Any dispute not resolved amicably within 30 days shall be submitted to binding arbitration in Toronto under the Arbitration Act, 1991 (Ontario).
